An amazing day.

We received four loads of goods to utilize and distribute including apples, oranges, onions, bleach, diapers, canned goods, water, and much more. Miracle Place from Baton Rouge delivered many of the goods, sent people to work with us and is staging some of their equipment at Port Mercy as a base of operations as they work to bless our city. We will be able to provide housing for some of their team aboard our ship Challenger.

We had a busy day of distribution and serving meals as the community has started to return home. The mandatory evacuation order was lifted over the weekend. People are blessed that they are able to come through our tents and select the things they need and also have a home cooked meal.

Christ in Action spent the day helping us tremendously with their bobcat and track hoe clearing brush while others who came to help did chain saw work.

A former Sea Hawk arrived today with a load of supplies and started work right away to make permanent repairs to our office roof.

The Red Cross and Texas Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief sent dinner over, prepared and delicious!

Our team tightened ship lines (another hurricane is headed toward Louisiana), cleaned out a 40’ refrigerated trailer to ready it to store a load of ice and food on Friday, made final preparation in the mobile kitchen and prepared the ship for a full house of volunteers tonight.

Finally, the power company came in and replaced one of our power poles that had snapped in two!

Wow. Thank you Jesus for all the wonderful people who are pulling together and pooling resources to provide for the tremendous need here in Lake Charles.
