FriendShips in the Middle East

FriendShips Health Center

We are happy to report that FriendShips Health Center in Syria is going strong! We currently have a doctor and three nurses who see 25-30 patients a day. The community hasn’t had local medical care available to them and they are so grateful to be treated and given medications, all without charge. Mothers bring in babies for wellness checks, infections and various issues. Adults suffer with respiratory problems, allergies, injuries from landmines and other wounds, rashes, diabetes, hypertension and many diverse problems.

In addition, the community has limited access to goods. We have set up a “boutique” tent where we stock clothing. The ladies enjoy shopping (free of charge, of course) for their households. We now have a wonderful network of Israeli organizations through “Israeli Relief Aid” who are providing the beautiful, high-quality clothing. We are also distributing toys, baby supplies and household goods and we have a shipment of much-needed medicine and medical supplies being donated by another amazing Israeli-based organization.

We have an amazing, hard-working team in Syria and in Israel to carry out this wonderful new work and additional opportunities there are opening up. Please pray about and consider volunteering your time to join us there. We need doctors, nurses, physical therapists, security workers, cooks, boutique and children’s playground workers and support personnel willing to do physical labor, live bunk-house style and eat simply, while serving this population who has suffered so much.
