Every year natural disasters destroy entire communities, leaving thousands of people homeless, their crops and possessions destroyed and their livestock dead. People need medical assistance, food, shelter, and supplies to help them make it through a devastating time. Our teams arrive by truck or ship to the disaster site with food, supplies, and emergency equipment, providing high water rescue, food service, commodity distribution, medical aid, and many other services, as needed.

Please check back, as we post updates here during response efforts.

2024 Friend Ships at Cedar Key, Florida

In October we responded to the devastating effects of Hurricanes Helene and Milton that tore apart communities throughout Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. In mid-October, we shipped a truckload of rolls of heavy duty vinyl to Tampa, Florida, where it is being redistributed to several communities with severe wind damage.

Our team helped cleaned up debris, cleaned up near a local
Airport, offered food service and worked to help a couple with their home. The bobcat was able to move their shed back into place and replace the soil over the roots of their trees.

The bobcat and operator were able to quickly clean up a nine inch layer of debris for a senior citizen after (at another location) moving this shed from the corner of a house back into its proper place and recovering up tree roots. Nice to have equipment and workers!

Hurricane Helene relief:

Friend Ships sent a team and supplies to Florida for Hurricane Helene relief. We also worked on joint airlifts from Lake Charles/Sulphur to the Carolinas.

Friend Ships will be offering a Disaster Relief Training later in the year.

Please check back as details become available, we will post more information here.  If you are interested and would like to be notified of the details, email us.

The training will prepare people to lead a response team when a crisis strikes in your community or region.
